Thompson, Steadmans work shares several key personality traits: a troubled relationship with sanity, an anarchic sense of humour, and at its core an unquestionable integrity. Steadmans wry illustrations are both entirely surreal and endearingly honest. Made during a long residency stay with Peacock Visual Arts in the late 1980s this etching formed part of a larger suite that recognised writers of influence to Ralph.
