This is a bouquet that demands attention and in this blind tasting

all wrapped in a wonderfully long

Note that the structure is almost completely resolved

hoisin and a hint of sandalwood

but there is something feminine about this Cuvée Madame (title notwithstanding

A ripe but cool and highly complex nose of moderately wooded aromas of violets

This is very definitely and 'buy and forget it somewhere deep in the cellar' wine

and an almost Graves-like scorched earth character

or those white soils

seems to be the most gravelly (pardon the pun) and with loads of minerality it’s a more backward tannic style

While certainly a quality '76 I was somewhat disappointed by the lack of excellent depth and length

earth and a more discreet touch of wood
