Faiveley Chambertin Clos de Beze 'les Ouvrees Rodin' Grand Cru 2017This is even more floral inflected with an abundance of spice elements adding breadth to the airy and cool aromas of primarily red berries. Once again the mouthfeel of the medium bodied flavors is quite sleek if not necessarily more complex on the sappy, focused and strikingly persistent finish. This is actually quite similar in quality and expression though with just a bit more mid palate concentration.

Like the Poisets this is notably rich with its relatively large-scaled flavors that also enjoy good density thanks to the abundant dry extract that also coats the palate and pushes the firmer supporting tannins to the background

The caressing and wonderfully vibrant medium-bodied flavors possess better mid-palate density before concluding in a lingering

The succulent and impressively concentrated flavors are almost viscous as well as highly seductive

Not surprisingly this is aromatically more elegant with its cool and pure aromas of essence of red berries and lilac scents

This full-bodied wine is silky

with a toasty profile to the peach

and the overall purity and equilibrium flawless

Both wines boast opaque black colors

The élevage lasted 16 months and was mostly in oval Stockinger 2

spicier than the 1997

There are sweet cherry aromas

This moderately powerful effort is shaped by dense but fine tannins and is a wine that should amply repay extended cellaring
