George Guba Quad Bamboo Fly Rod 8' 3/2 #5A George Guba Quad Bamboo Fly Rod, 8', 3 piece, 2 tip, built for a #5 line. 4. 4 ounces. Mint or near mint condition. Medium to medium slow action. The rod shaft is inscribed "Quad. H. B. 8' 5W, by Guba". Flamed cane in a four strip construction and a spiral node pattern. Red color preserved wraps with a small band of yellow. Agate stripper with bronze snake guides. Decent varnish with some dust and fiber particles. Bright ferrules. The grip is 6"
Near mint condition with the exception of slight marks on the reel foot from being mounted on a rod and a few handling marks on the rims (these are not scratches or dings)
Unmolested ribbed brass foot
3 5/8" diameter with a 1 7/16" spool width and a weight of 11
Full wells grip 6 1/2" in length with only the lightest of soiling
Excellent++ overall condition with a few very minor marks
Book Condition: As new
Medium action and still perfectly straight with an excellent ferrule fit
built for a GAF line weight or the equivalent to a modern #9
