Hardy Brass Face Perfect 3 1/2" ReelAn extremely rare Hardy Brass Face Perfect fly reel, 3 1 2" in diameter, with a non ported spool. I've talked to several Hardy aficionados about this reel and none can recall having seen one with a non ported spool like this. And it is in superb condition throughout, a fantastic specimen. The ivorine handle spins freely (with a bit of travel but it is still held on firmly by the post). Great patina on the brass winding plate, with the rod in hand logo

Rod tube has a few dents in it but it has done its job well

This rod has been authenticated by Craig Lynch and Glenn Brackett as absolutely original

Mechanically the reel remains in very fishable condition with a bit of spindle/spool movement

Bound in full brown leather with gilt title and decoration on the spine

Wrapped light tan with dark brown edges and a band of black at the keeper
