Hardy Perfect 2 1/2" Wide Drum 1896 Check Fly ReelFor sale here is a good example of a 2 1 2" diameter Hardy Perfect with 1896 check. Aluminium face plate with rod in hand and straight line logos. Full length foot and strapped tension adjuster. This reel has no undue spool or spindle wear, i. e. is nice and tight. At some time the handle cup and check adjuster block have been enthusiastically polished, fortunately, being brass they will age in time.

Now in production for ten years

baking about 100 reel seats in the tempering oven to achieve this light caramelized color

There is a very minor spot of oxidization on the ring near the reel foot though this can easily be polished out

This fissure resulted from over-tightening of the screws within the interior of the reel where the spring is attached with a n/s plate

Made to accommodate a WF9 plus 150 yards of 20# backing

These bench-made Robichaud reels are super difficult to find on the resale market as not many were made
