My UniverseRed Slate Mountain and the stars and Milky Way reflecting in Mildred Lake along Convict Creek in the eastern Sierra Mountains of California. this impression was captured in the eastern sierra of california on july 4th, 2021 under the stars at 11: 11pm and also 11 mins after sunrise at 5: 55am this composition is comprised of one long exposure of the lake and the mountain (f 11@111mm for 111 secs, iso 64) merged with a separate exposure of the stars

and then again on Aug 11-13 (these very days right now as sure as I’m typing) as the sun moves back southward towards winter solstice

the striking reflection of the sun in the waters and wet sand…

showing visitors the inside workings of a grist mill originally called Red Bird Mill and built 1876 by George Woodham

so inspiring even though it is both joyful and sad at times

the smell of plumeria dancing on the ocean breeze

yet i wanted to blur the middle ground of the image (lens blur using large aperture) to make the sunflower stand out

in my photography i always use filters to create long exposure effects and to balance the light in my composition in camera

I stumbled onto this aera when we took a wrong turn down a small country lane

all of a sudden the setting sun hit the gap in the clouds
