Farlow's Perfect 4 1/4" fly reel

Farlow's Perfect 4 1/4" fly reelFor sale here is a scarce 4 1 4 inch Farlow's Perfect style fly reel. Nice and tight spring and the tensioner works perfectly throughout its range. The smooth brass foot is original and unmolested, 3 5 16" in length. The nicely aged and flaw free ernoid handle spins freely. With the backing the reel weighs 17 oz. The spool width is ~ 1. 3 inches. A high quality fishing reel for salmon or steelhead!

The only item to note is a very minor chip in the inner ebonite ring

The slide band ring is done with the tiny convex scallops leading to the fine coin knurl edges

In mint condition

This model was made from 1927 to 1939 and this particular one appears to have been made near the end of that time period with a bright finish
